FAQs

  • The following skills are recommended to be successful and enjoy singing with the Bay Chorale. A person should have some basic musical knowledge such as time signatures, tempo, ability to follow the voice part (i.e. soprano, alto, tenor, or bass voice), understand the numbered measures in a score and know the voice range that you sing (i.e. soprano, alto, tenor, or bass).

    Anyone with a love of music can join The Bay Chorale by attending our rehearsals at the beginning of one of our two sessions.

    • Session 1: September-December

    • Session 2: January-May

  • The Bay Chorale rehearses every Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at Grace Church on 2 Mile Road, near John Glenn High School.

    Additional Saturday rehearsals may be scheduled as needed leading up to concert events. A dress rehearsal will also take place at the concert venue during the week of the performance.

    Regular attendance is essential for membership, and all members should prioritize attending as many rehearsals as possible.

  • Auditions are not required to join The Bay Chorale. However, soloists and small group members are required to audition for the director to show one’s ability. 

  • Members must pay a $35 membership fee per session. New members have a two-week grace period before payment, allowing them time to decide if they wish to continue for the full session.

    Membership fees are non-refundable. All music belongs to the Bay Chorale and must be returned upon departure.

  • Performances take place towards the end of each session on Friday’s at 7:00pm. Contact thebaychoralebaycity@gmail.com for the most up-to-date information regarding performances for the upcoming season.

    The Bay Chorale has performed in various venues throughout the Bay Area including The State Theatre, Garber High School, Bay City Central High School, churches and public facilities.
